Discussion Board #1-Presenting Your Experience – Discussion Board Group 2

It will be very important for you to be able to explain your internship experience to future employers, advisors, etc. You will begin practicing this skill by describing your internship to your classmates (and me) here.

1) Tell about the organization with whom you are interning. Describe the organization itself, its mission, the population they serve, etc. (Feel free to use the organization’s website as inspiration)

2) Next, tell about your specific experience interning at this organization. Why did you decide to intern here? What activities have you been participating in? What activities will you be participating in in the next few months?

3) Lastly, provide your goals for your time at this internship. What do you hope to learn? What skills do you hope to develop? How do you think this experience will help you with your future career?

**Remember that you are practicing for future job interviews, conversations, networking, etc. Be sure that you put a positive spin on things. (Job interviews are not the places to air your grievances about your experience)

Ensure you answer all the prompts. I’m looking for a thoughtful, high-quality post and responses, with 3 or fewer grammatical/mechanical errors.

After you post your response, respond to two of your classmates’ posts.  Remember to be professional in your response. Your original post is due on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, @ 11:59 pm EST.  Two responses to your classmates’ posts are due Sunday, Feb. 6, 2022, @ 11:59 pm.

Your original post and responses will be graded in the following manner:

0 points – no posts completed

5-8 points – Less than two response posts, and/or poor-quality posts in terms of thought and writing

12 points – Original post and two responses included, limited evidence of effort, room for improvement needed in the quality of writing

16.66 points – High-quality original posts as well as two high-quality response posts, solid evidence of thoughtfulness and effort, high-quality writing
