Introduce Yourself

Purpose: Some of you have been at Georgia State for a couple of semesters; some of you are new here. The purpose of this assignment is for you to introduce yourself to your professor and classmates.  We won’t be seeing each other face-to-face this semester, so this as a good opportunity to tell us about yourself and for you to learn about your classmates.

Task:  First, begin a new discussion post by typing your name in the subject field (something like “Hello, I’m Jorge Garcia!” is fine there).  Second, answer the following questions about yourself in your post:

• What is your name?
• What is your major and why did you select it?
• Is this your first semester at Georgia State? Your last?
• Do you have any hobbies or unique interests?
• Do you have any expectations or anxieties about this online history class?
• Anything you want to add?

Avoid overly personal or private information (there’s just some stuff we don’t need to know!).  You might want to consider adding your profile picture to your iCollege user account.

Criteria for Success:  A successful introduction answers all the questions above, and even though this is an informal assignment, it is well written, following the rules of grammar and spelling and netiquette rules (no text jargon, etc.).
