Attending and paraphrasing content are an important part of the therapist’s toolkit. For practice, listen to Attending and Paraphrasing Content – Rose, containing a brief statement by Rose, a client, and then respond as you would in a clinical session.
Using Kaltura, record yourself demonstrating Attending Skills (body language, tone of voice, and facial expression), and Paraphrasing Content of what was heard.
Response Guidelines
Respond to the recordings of at least two of your peers. It is nice to hear what we are doing right, but it is also very beneficial to hear where we can improve. Offer suggestions to your peers about ways to continue to improve skills. When providing feedback, avoid being too general; instead, be very specific about what information you are providing.
